About Me
I am a Bioengineer passionate about exploring the intersection of materials, biology, and medicine to create innovative solutions for human health. My work focuses on designing soft biomaterials and immunomodulatory polymers for applications in regenerative medicine, drug delivery, and organ engineering.

My journey began with a BSc and MSc in Biotechnology in Bangladesh, followed by an MEng in Materials Science (Nanotechnology specialization) in Japan as a recipient of the prestigious MEXT Scholarship. During this time, I worked on nanomaterial-enabled microfluidic devices for biosensing and sperm sorting, collaborating with the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Thailand) and the University of Tsukuba Hospital. I later pursued my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Calgary, where I developed thermoresponsive hydrogels for soft tissue (e.g., cartilage) regeneration. Since then, my projects have expanded to areas such as cellulose-based microcapsules for heat therapy and advanced biomaterial designs for biomedical applications.

Currently, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of British Columbia, I lead efforts to engineer immunosuppressive polymers that protect the endothelial glycocalyx, opening new possibilities for preventing transplant rejection. I thrive on translational science—transforming academic discoveries into technologies with real-world biomedical impact.

Beyond my research, I possess broad technical expertise in polymer synthesis, advanced material characterization, mammalian and immune cell culture, bioassays, and microfabrication. Skilled in project management, collaboration, and mentoring, I excel at driving interdisciplinary research forward while building commercially relevant solutions.

At my core, I see myself not just as a researcher but as an innovator in bioengineering, committed to pushing the boundaries of science to improve patient outcomes and transform healthcare technologies.
